Well, first things first....October 25th we ventured out to our local pumpkin patch that we always go to (on Saratoga Avenue). They have a little petting zoo that Emily loves and she remembers going there every year, so its fun for her. Every year she gets to paint her pumpkin....she has lots of fun.

Sick pooh.....
Figures, as soon as she starts preschool, she catches some wierd cold bug. My poor pooh.....mostly upper respiratory congestion, not too high of a fever, and no coughing...at least not yet. She looks so sad.....She went to her second day of preschool today and the teacher told Nana that she had a hard time staying awake. They said she seemed really sleepy today. (Little did they know that last night, Emily was whimpering and crying in her sleep on and off all night....I had a feeling something was up...maybe nightmares or possibly the beginnings of a cold.....) This morning, she was fine, excited to go to school. As soon as she came home, she started getting extra whiney and of course, started feeling warmer, her nose starting to get all stuffy.......now, she is hugging a little bag of ice, watching the Wiggles, her eyes with that "poor little sick baby glaze" over.
So, its all about hand sanitizers and lysol for me right now. I'm out Emergen-C's too....gotta have Daddy pick some up at Walgreens! Hope my super-hyped immune system can withstand this bug! Wish me luck! :p
PS- had some braxton hicks today......i went up the stairs at the salon too fast, and caught myself having some contractions. It scared me at first, but then, it went away and I knew that this is only the beginning...... :)

Corned Beef Cabbage.....
Just for Dixie :)
2-3 lbs of corned beef (brisket is the best)- with season packet inside
tiny red potatoes
1 whole cabbage
baby carrots
I place the brisket in my crockpot, with the seasoning packet. Put enough water to cover the meat. Cook on high 6 hours. The last hour, put all veggies in, taste for seasoning. Its pretty salty so it should be fine, but you never know. Slice the meat against the grain and serve hot!!!! Its soooo easy and its always a hit! I serve it with whole grain mustard (dijon) and of course homemade rolls adds a nice touch.
Its not just for St. Patty's anymore!

Emily's first day of school.....
So the day finally came...Emily's first day at Preschool. She is going 2 1/2 days a week, and today was her first day. We've been getting her school supplies all together the last week, with colored pencils, pens and crayons, all labeled with her name. Her backback came that I bought online from the Disney Store, with a matching lunch tote, embroidered with her first name. (I got them super cheap- the lunch tote was $4.00!!!) Her first school lunch consisted of her favorites: ham sandwich on white (with no crust) and extra mayonaise, cheddar cheese, apple juice box and a few mini oreos. I did very good not to cry or get emotional.....but saying bye to her was definitely tough.
(Emily on her way to school, toast in hand!)
So, Emily was sent home with a progress report of her first day.
"Emily did wonderful today. She made 4 friends today. She traced her name, traced numbers 1-5, and colored. She played nicely outside and inside. Emily is very friendly. She did not finish her lunch but ate all her snacks".
Our little pooh is growing up so fast.....

Sunday Madness....
Sunday started with a quick trip to the store to pick up some things for dinner. Michael and I were going over to the McDowell's to have a nice Sunday Dinner with their family. I was treating them to my famous Corned Beef Cabbage and attempted to make my mother-in-laws famous "no knead rolls". Anyways, Jess and Ian came and picked up Emily to take her to a co-worker's daughter's first birthday at a park. While they were gone, Michael and I ran quickly to Ikea to pick up the last few things to help organize our space to make room for the baby. Anyways, thanks to Krista, here are a few cute pics of Emily at the birthday party.
This is Ian, swinging Emily way to high for my liking...hee hee. She had so much fun with them at the party.
Emily and Heidi (Sean's girlfriend).....
Emily hitting her first pinata.....I heard she kept hitting it and wouldn't let go of the stick. She then figured out that you take turns.... :)
This is Krista, Halle (Ian and Jess' baby) and little pooh.
Emily giving baby Halle kisses......
In the end, my dinner was fabulous and my rolls "ok". But I was proud at my second attempt ever. :) Emily had so much fun playing with Halle. Thanks Ian and Jess! (now you know what like would be like with 2! --- granted both are super easy!)

Cell Phone Pics!
I had some cute pics of "Pooh" and I on my cell phone, I finally got it transferred onto my PC. So here they are!
This one was taken by Michael on his cell phone, right before ballet class. (Michael was so proud of fixing her hair all by himself...he did a pretty good job huh?)
My silly girl!
